PlantKingdom003/ Brush Making
PlantKingdom004/ Vegetable paints
The ‘Plant Kingdom’ is a series of workshops for children that gives an opportunity to create a local garden, that inhabits edible flowers and vegetables. It’s a space where children will discover their neighbourhood, history and eco-social systems through story telling and fairytale formats.
On the 06rd and 07th of August, Lina Kusaite led two workshops at the Cultural Center of Etterbeek, Espace Senghor and the Eggevoort garden.
003 – During the two days, children were selecting different plants, learning how make paint brushes from them and experimenting with structures and patterns.
004 – During the two days, children were learning how to extract natural dyes from vegetables and berries, and make their own DIY organic paints.
Lina Kusaite was assisted by Sofie Van Bruystegem from City Mine(d) and the PUM collective, running projects about wastelands and garden/water issues as connectors for people to collectively shape the urban environment.
